Avery and Kendall are SO much fun right now. I am loving this stage. It's amazing what a difference 6 months can make. When Tyler started residency last summer and it was just me and the girls and Kendall would only take 45 minute naps and wake up at 6am and Avery was pooping her pants constantly and having huge two-year-old tantrums all the time life just wasn't that fun. I felt like I was just enduring the days most of the time, counting down till bedtime. And I was one meltdown away from taking a year long sabbatical from going to church since Tyler is rarely able to come with us. And then... it got better! Avery grew up, Kendall grew up and right now they are so. much. FUN!
Kendall is turning into such a little toddler. She follows Avery around everywhere and they play together and Kendall repeats anything anyone says. She pretty much speaks in full sentences these days. "have ca-ca (cracker) pees!" "c'mon, chase me!" "no dank you!" "I dow wan dat" (I don't want that) "have sum, have sum??" "fowow me!" (follow me!) and on and on. I can't believe she can talk so much! It cracks me up that she knows all of these princess words like amulet and scepter and she can say the character names from Princess Sofia like Princess Hildegard. (We might watch a little too much Princess Sofia around here). Anyway, her talking has made such a difference since she can tell me what she wants and can communicate with Avery too.
The girls are the perfect age where it doesn't take much to entertain them and they both enjoy whatever outing we go on for the day. Our typical routine now is wake up, read books with Kendall till Avery wakes up, the girls eat breakfast while I exercise, get dressed, head out on some adventure for the day (library, zoo, park, splash pad, friends house, grocery shopping, children's museum, etc) come home for lunch and naps/quiet time, watch tv, make dinner, play till bed. We don't have to answer to anyone else and our schedule is our own. I realize this is a short stage of life that I won't have to deal with school schedules and after school programs and I'm soaking it in while it lasts. We just play all day long and it's so fun. I finally feel like I'm getting the better end of the deal getting to stay home with these guys rather than going to work all day like Tyler gets to haha! (That sounds like a no-brainer but when you're deep in the trenches getting up with babies all night, cleaning out poopy underwear, changing countless diapers, dealing with screaming tantrums, etc going to work sounds like a treat some days).
Anyway, I'm loving these sweet sisters and I'm loving watching their relationship grow too. I hope they are best buddies forever.
Are the cookies done yet??
Daddy snuggles!
The Splash Pads are open!!
(Where did all her baby rolls go???)
We have been getting LOTS of rain lately.
Coloring buddies.
Story time craft at the library. Avery is having a lot of fun with these right now. Kendall just wants to eat glue.
Upside down pic, but they had baby chicks at the library!
At the children's museum. Don't try to tell Kendall this isn't a hat.
Doing a project at the museum. Avery really likes cutting paper and Kendall really likes stacking things.
Daddy brought home donuts for National Donut Day!
Avery's face! haha!
Cute sisters helping me grocery shop.
I love these cuties.
Tyler's friend Carley from freshman year at BYU and her husband came and stayed with us while they looked for a house in Fort Worth. They are moving here next month! They looked all over Fort Worth and ended up putting an offer on a house in a neighborhood right behind ours!! We are so excited they will be in our ward!!
Tyler worked nights the first two nights they were here so Avery just slept in the bed with me, but the third night he was home so we made Avery a little bed on the floor. She LOVED it! haha! She is sleeping on the changing pad from the changing table.
Her cheesy face is so adorable.
I love my girls!

What a fun post! I'm glad things have gotten better and you're able to enjoy the girls/your life more these days! Your schedule with the girls, sounds almost exactly like my daily schedule with Ella. I'm worried about how the new baby is gonna affect it...sometimes i wish I could just give birth to an 18month old! I love seeing all the pics of Avery and Kendall interacting, it's so sweet, hopefully that'll be my girls in a few more months!
Just adorable!!
