Trip to Houston

This past week I drove with the girls down to Houston (Katy) to visit a couple of my girlfriends I know from Galveston. I was a little nervous about driving with the girls for an almost 4 hour car trip by myself, but they were great! I put on a movie, packed tons of snacks and they were happy as can be! I feel like this trip marked the start of a new phase of my life. I think I can actually go places with my girls! I am no longer dreading our trip to Utah this August. Yay for growing up! I had such a great time visiting with Liz and Alexis. I'm glad I made the trip!

Kendall is actually entertained by TV now so that helps a lot. She also took an hour long nap in the car.

Kendall wanted Kyle to hold her while she was all wrapped up in her towel. I think she was missing her Dada.

Avery and Ella had a lot of fun playing together. It was cute watching them and listening to their adorable conversations.

They invented a game of picking up rocks and putting them on a pool chair.

We had a blast swimming in the pool!
Avery and Kendall are definitely water babies!

Avery is loving the freedom that comes with her puddle jumper.

Me and Liz

It was so fun to see Alexis one more time before she moves to Arizona :(

Such a fun little getaway with my girls.

Alexis snuggling baby Kendall.

Two cute preggos.

On the way home we stopped in Waco to go to the Children's Museum there.
Both the girls really liked watching these trains!

Buffalo!

A friendly teenager helping Avery do the bubble exhibit.

"Wook at meeeee!!"

Tea party room. Avery was right at home here.

My two little Texans.

We stopped at Czech Stop on our way out because a friend recommended it to me. I was not that impressed, but maybe I just got the wrong thing?
By the way, I never had a kolache the entire time I lived in the Czech Republic, but here in Texas they think kolaches are a staple czech food. ???

Back at home, we had a play date to meet the new moms who moved in to start residency here. Shelby and I are testing out the selfie stick.

We are missing half the moms, but we take who we can get for a picture!

Avery took a tumbling class this month and really liked it! On the last day parents are invited to come watch the class. I can see why the parents aren't normally allowed to watch. Avery was super distracted having me in there.

I was impressed by some of her skills!
They did front rolls, back rolls, head stands, cartwheels. It is super funny to watch 3 year olds attempt these things.

Next month we are going to let Avery try a ballet/tap class. Should be fun!

We finally got to do something fun with Daddy!
We went swimming at our friend's community pool last night.
Everything is always more fun with Daddy.

Two cuties.

Do you think the puddle jumpers are worth it? I just worry about them getting too comfortable with the water and not realizing they don't have it on. Am I being paranoid?

Lisa, the puddle jumper has been AWESOME for me. It's really the only way I can take them swimming by myself since neither of them can swim yet. So far I haven't had an issue with Avery getting in the water without it on, but I am all over her about it. Like if she takes it off I'm like "remember, you can't swim without that on, stay in the shallow water, etc etc" over and over and I watch her like a hawk. I've heard once the kids start swimming lessons they shouldn't wear them anymore because it impedes their progress with learning to swim, but we haven't done swim lessons yet.
