Tyler had the three days before Christmas off and we had some fun having Daddy home for a little vacation. We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve since Tyler worked Christmas this year and then I flew to Denver with my girls that night so we got to celebrate Christmas again the next day with my family. Here's a little of what we did while Daddy was home.
I put Kendall's hair in pigtails for the first time. She's growing up so fast!
Avery pulled out every burp cloth and baby blanket we own and draped them all over Daddy.
Kendall played with Daddy's nose.
Then Avery insisted that Daddy cover her with all the blankets.
Avery helped me make sugar cookies.
Time for frosting!
Sprinkles!
Avery loved this part. She was so excited to put sprinkles on the cookies and then when we finally let her eat a finished cookie she just ate the sprinkles off the top and didn't want any of the cookie.
Kendall was happy to munch on a plain sugar cookie while we decorated.

Another day we made peppermint popcorn. I told Avery not to eat any until the chocolate dried, which of course she ignored. When Daddy came in to try a bite she turned around with a chocolate covered mouth and told him "we can't eat it yet!" We died laughing!
The night before Christmas Santa's helped built Avery a kitchen.
This was probably a good two hours into the project.
Coming together.
Da-ta! I think he finished in about 3.5 hours.
All ready for the little girls in the morning!
Santa also brought a slide for Kendall and a "bu-lella" (umbrella) for Avery, which is the only thing she has been asking for repeatedly. When they came out in the morning, the (free) umbrella was the first thing Avery ran for. I thought it would get lost with all the big presents, but she remembered and was very excited about it!

Kendall was so excited about her new baby. When she ripped off the wrapping paper she squealed "baby!" and could hardly wait for Daddy to free it from the box.
Avery got a Tangled dress.
Putting the baby to bed in the new baby crib.
Checking out her new kitchen.
I've been doing free lance writing for the last several months and saved up some money to buy Tyler a gun for Christmas. I was pretty excited to give it to him. It's a WWII Czech rifle.

So many new toys!
Avery had to bring all of her new princess barbies to lay down for a nap with her.
We had a really fun morning and then headed off to the airport in the afternoon to catch our 6pm flight to Denver. Flying with my two littles (especially a 1 year old who just wants to walk around and doesn't watch tv) is no picnic, but somehow we made it.
We've been having lots of fun here in CO with all the uncles and aunts and of course Grammy and Grandpa. More pictures coming soon!
