We went on another camping trip to Brazos Bend this past weekend. This time with TWO kids! We were a little worried about taking a three-month-old camping, but they both did great and we ended up having a really fun time. We brought lots of clothes to keep them bundled up, but ended up having a space heater in our tent so it wasn't even cold! I think both the girls really liked it and we want to try and go again before we move.
Disclaimer: This blog has a LOT of pictures! Ed let me borrow his really nice camera just to play around with and I ended up taking tons of pictures. It was so fun and just made me want to invest in a nice camera even more. Someday!
Walking to the park around the corner.
Avery and her little buddy, Clementine.
They are getting old enough to start playing together and it's pretty fun to watch them bumbling around.
At the campfire.
We kept Kendall very bundled up and she was pretty happy most of the time.
Our camp site.
The whole gang. Such a fun group!
The Ferrin's really made it fun with their amazing camper and all it's amenities!
I may never go camping without an RV again!
At the beginning of our hike around Elm Lake.
All loaded up with our kiddos.
Avery kept telling us the whole trip that "al-gagors NOT scary, yi-on(lion) scary!"

Gators!
I love this one of Ed and Sydney.
This HUGE gator was right next to the trail!
Tyler decided to be an idiot and actually touch this massive gator.
I was SO mad! That alligator could have easily chomped him.
After he touched it and it didn't do anything, he decided he needed to give it a little squeeze. The gator lifted his head and gave this really menacing hiss.
Tyler is so crazy!
This is the alligator after Tyler squeezed his tail. You can see his head is lifted up and his tail is moved forward. He probably ate someone's kid after we left because he was all ticked.
We saw this really unusual site at the end of the trail.

Photo cred: me! I'm so artistic.
Ed is also an amazing bird photographer so he was able to identify a lot of birds along our hike.
The rest of the pics are iphone photos. We stopped at the visitors center on the way out so Avery could see the baby alligators. She didn't want to touch them.
Kendall didn't really have a choice.
We also got to meet a little snake.
Avery didn't want to touch him either, but she did say snakes say, "ssssss" and they "wiggle wiggle wiggle" when they move.
By the camp fire.
We borrowed a sleeping bag for Avery to sleep in and she liked it for about 5 minutes and then refused to sleep in it the rest of the night. Good thing we had the space heater!
Our set up in the tent.
We had such a great time!
