What 4th Year is supposed to be like

The last week has been awesome. Tyler is doing his "clinical nuclear medicine" elective which sounds all fancy, but really entails him going in for a couple hours each day... if he feels like it. The first day he went in at 9:00 and at 9:30 the doctor came in and told him to go home. Basically he has an off month so he can be doing interviews, but his first one isn't until next week so he's just been hanging around with me and Avery and it's been great! Finally, the coveted 4th year that we've been hearing about all these years. It's great. Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to lately.

Avery wanted to push her stroller on our walk one morning, just like Mommy.
She also is really into having her little stuffed animals poking out of the front of her shirt.

We went to a pumpkin patch and Avery got to pick out her own mini pumpkin.

We played this game for like 20 minutes one day where she kept poking her head sideways out of her crib. So funny. Also, notice the little dog sticking out of her shirt. This is all day, every day.

Every time we ride the ferry we say how we want to go check out Seawolf Park, which is this little peninsula park poking out into the ocean. We finally did it!
Here's Avery and Daddy standing out on the rocks to check out the water and all the boats going by.

Avery and Daddy with our little picnic. Avery was really bad at having a picnic. She kept standing up and walking all over the food. That girl cannot sit still!

Tyler came to mutual with me this week while the youth carved pumpkins. We brought our own pumpkin to carve. It was so good, it won 1st place at our ward Halloween party this past weekend! It was some pretty stiff competition.

We went to Zoo Boo on Friday. All the kids come dressed up in their Halloween costumes and they have the zoo decorated for Halloween.
Here we are checking out the Red Panda. He is our favorite. This is the cutest animal on the planet.

Another pumpkin patch for Avery!

Daddy showing Avery how to pet the goats.

...and stroke their beards. haha

One day at lunch Avery was convinced she had a bug in her mouth. She kept crying and saying "bug" and pointing to her mouth. We tried to tell her there was no bug, but she wouldn't be appeased until Tyler got out his flashlight and checked in her mouth. Once he gave her the "all clear" she was able to go back to eating her lunch in peace.
(I am still trying to figure this out... where did she come up with the idea that a bug was in her mouth...?!!)

Riding the ferry and looking for dolphins.

Avery is really into putting diapers on all her stuffed animals right now.
Getting her practice in for when baby #2 gets here!

Trying to teach her how to blow bubbles.

Watching a street performer at the art walk.

Tyler kept her entertained at Stake Conference by letting her put keys in and out of his shirt pocket.

Tyler learning to surf!

It was pouring rain when we got there, but me and Avery hung around to watch anyway. Luckily the rain cleared up after not too long and Avery could roam around the beach instead of hiding out under the umbrella with me.

And just because I can't resist pictures of Avery eating corn on the cob.

We have another pretty relaxing week coming up before Tyler's interviews start and then it will be crazy again. He has 2-3 interviews a week all during November and then we will have a baby! I can't believe she is almost here! And hopefully all of Tyler's interviews go well so we don't have to stress so much about match week. Exciting times for us!

Avery sounds so cute! If you get tired of her using real diapers, I made some play diapers with this easy pattern and my girls love them: http://www.skiptomylou.org/2008/09/19/how-to-make-a-diaper-for-a-childs-doll/

Good luck with interviews and the coming baby!
