Interviews

We have been busy with Tyler interviewing the last month. Avery and I have only been able to go on 3 interviews with Tyler, but it's been fun to tag along when we've been able to... even though traveling with a one year old isn't exactly ideal. She's been pretty good with the long days in the car and sleeping in hotels. Thank goodness! It's been fun to see where we could end up next summer!

First, here are a few pictures from the rest of our Halloween adventures. This is our little pumpkin patch at the ward Halloween party.

On Halloween we went up to our friend Ashlee's house to do trick-or-treating in her neighborhood. Here is the group of kiddos who went trick-or-treating.

Avery was an awesome trick-or-treater. She loved the whole thing. She loves knocking on doors so that was fun enough and then she did surprisingly good at holding out her little bucket and saying "trick-or-treat!" (sort of). I thought she would do like 3 houses and be done, but she did the whole block!

One house had Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin movie playing outside and we sat and watched that with her for like 10 minutes. She had a really fun time and her new favorite thing is suckers, which she asks for every day. It was perfect timing because all the suckers she got kept her very entertained for all our road tripping!

We made our big purchase for baby #2 and got a double stroller. I haven't used it yet, but I think it will be great! It's pretty big compared to a single, but a necessary evil, in my opinion, if I'm ever going to leave the house with 2 babies. (Tyler keeps saying, "Can't Avery just walk?" hahahahaha...ha)

Here's Avery helping Daddy put it together.

And trying out one of the seats.

The first interview Avery and I went on with Tyler was to Corpus Christi. They put us up at the Omni, which was fabulous. They gave Avery a little backpack with crayons and straws and stuff in it and she LOVES it. She wears her little backpack everywhere.

We had such a fun little visit to Corpus. The resident dinner was really nice and we got to take Avery swimming at the hotel. The next day while Tyler was interviewing Avery and I went to a mom's playgroup so I got to meet a few of the resident wives and ask them questions which was really helpful. It really made the trip for me! I would love to end up in Corpus.

Avery loved the King sized bed. Me too... we are getting an upgrade!

We had breakfast on the Seawall (I think they call it the Shoreline in Corpus) while Tyler started his interviews.

The breakfast burritos from Stripes are amazing!

Avery loves to put stickers on my bare belly, or "baby", as she calls it. It's unacceptable to do it over my shirt, which is fine except things get really awkward when we're in public...

Back at home I have been doing my best to get things ready for Baby. I got out the rock-n-play (that thing seriously needs a better name) so I could wash the cover. Avery climbed right in and took her nap in there! I have a feeling she's not going to like it when she has to share with her little sister.

Another thing we did between interviews is another Triathlon! This time around our friends made it a team event to be more friendly to those of us who are pregnant (there are quite a few!). I just did the swim portion.

Tyler is pooped after his 4 mile run.

Here's our team!
We thought about squeezing Kyle into Avery's team Hedman shirt so he could match us, but didn't go for it in the end :)
I did the swim, Kyle did the bike, and Tyler did the run.
My big victory was being the second one to finish the swim, despite being 8 months pregnant!

Here's the whole group!

I love that we still get to go to the beach in November.

This was another trick we used to keep Avery happy during our road trips. She loves ice cream cones from McDonald's! I had to fight off my inner clean freak to let her eat these in the car, but the mess was worth the 20 minutes of keeping Avery occupied.

This was at JPS in Forth Worth. We stayed at the Sheraton. Avery was a little grumpier on this trip, but we still had fun hanging out watching cartoons and swimming in the hotel pool. We did a little shopping while Tyler was interviewing. This is another place I would love to end up.

After the Fort Worth interview we drove over to Shreveport, LA. The flavor was totally different here. Super relaxed and informal. The town is a little dumpy, so not my first pick for sure, but Tyler said he liked the program and wouldn't be upset to go here.

I took Avery to the children's museum for a few hours while Tyler was interviewing. As you can see, she is still loving her backpack from the week before.

Water table at the museum.

Like I said, Tyler has been on other interviews without us, and has liked most of them so it's making us more excited for Match Day in March! We are glad that we would be happy ending up almost anywhere on his list!

In other news... I am about to have a baby! I was measuring a little small at my last appointment so they had me come in to do some fetal monitoring and an ultrasound, but Baby Girl is perfectly fine and healthy. I am already dilated to a 2 and feeling contractions so I think she is on her way! I put myself on bed rest while Tyler has been gone the last couple days. I was seriously worried she would be born without him here. Thankfully, I am leaving to get him from the airport in a few minutes. I'm so glad she waited till he got home! Now I just need her out before his next interview on Dec 3...

Avery is really into snuggling in bed with us before she goes in her crib. She loves to play "airpanes!" or "mo-er-cycles!" with Daddy before bed. She's been throwing fits about going to bed and down for naps the last couple weeks, which has been really fun...

Wearing her Turkey Day headband Grammy sent her!
Some day she'll figure out how to smile for a picture... She actually really loves the headband.

Feeding Baby some juice through my belly button...
I'm really curious to see how she will react when the baby actually comes out of my belly. I think she's in for a surprise. I tell her the baby is coming out soon, but I don't know how much she understands.

My latest Pinterest craft!
It's a felt Christmas tree. The felt ornaments and presents come off so Avery can pull them off and stick them back on. She seems to like it so far!
Christmas is coming! I am excited!

What kind of stroller did you get? Definitely something you need with 2 kids. :) I love all the pictures and am glad you've been able to go with Tyler to some interviews. It's an exciting time for you guys!
