We celebrated Tyler's birthday this week. But before I talk about that, here are a couple other pictures of what we've been up to.
Avery got her first piece of mail!
It was a $5 coupon for the upcoming book sale at the library since she completed the summer reading program.
They had the book sale this past Saturday so we took Avery to check it out and cash in her coupon. I had no idea what to expect, but it was a zoo! I had no idea people were so excited about used book sales. I also didn't know they were going to have all these great books for $1! We ended up getting 12 books for only 7 bucks. Sweet!
All the girls playing at play group. Avery is sitting behind Berlin and Ava in the rocking chair. We thought it was so cute all the girls got together to play. There were boys at playgroup too!
Avery always wants to try on daddy's clothes.
Avery's favorite book. Grandma Engstrom sent her a copy since she had so much fun with it in Colorado. It has all the fun nursery rhymes. Avery will turn to the page of the song she wants me to sing. It's really cute!
Avery in a box.
Tyler took Avery swimming while I went to mutual. I was jealous I didn't get to swim with them. They were being so cute together.
Tyler's birthday was last Thursday. He decided to ditch school that day and hang out with us instead, which was super fun! I made him Magleby's french toast for breakfast and then we went to the beach. It was a perfect beach day and it felt so good to sit in the sand and watch Avery run around. She loved it and loved pulling daddy around to help her get water in her pail and dig in the sand and run in the waves, etc etc.
After the beach we jumped in our apartment pool for a little bit to get the sand off and ended up swimming longer than I thought we would because it felt so good. By the time we came inside and showered, I could barely get Avery to eat a little lunch before she crashed and slept for 4 hours!! We definitely wore her out. Tyler decided to take a nap too and woke up just in time to head over to his intramural ultimate Frisbee game. Avery and I came to watch and only stayed and put up with the mosquitos because it was his birthday. We had Cafe Rio for dinner called it a day! Nothing super exciting, but it was so nice to get to spend the whole day together just having fun. Happy Birthday, Tyler! I love you!
I had to drive up to the mainland for an errand that only took 5 minutes so I let Avery check out Petco for a little bit before we turned around and drove the 30 mins back home. She loves animals and it was fun to take her around to see all of them and have her practice saying their names. She is learning so many words right now!
Avery helping Daddy play his game.
Today during General Conference we made Avery a fishing pole!
Tyler drew the fish and helped me trace/cut them out and then I sewed a magnet in them. We tied a string on a stick and voila! Fishing pole!
Avery has been having fun with it all day. She usually cheats and uses her hands to get he fish on the magnet, but she's been starting to try it more with the pole. Either way, she likes it and it was fun to make with Tyler.
I was just going to do boring, basic fish, but Tyler got some much better ones going for me. Goldfish, shark, trout, piranha, Dory fish from Nemo... he is much more artistic than me. I love how they turned out!
We also loved listening to GC today (and cheering on the Broncos and 9ers. win, win, win!)
