Noteworthy Things

We've had some fun things going on around here the last couple weeks. First, a picture of the fish we cooked up from Tyler's fishing trip.

It was pretty good. Tyler did his best to get all the bones out before I cooked them up, but he still got a couple in his serving and accidentally slowed one. Now he's afraid the fish bone is going to poke holes in his intestines.

Next up... this was a couple weeks ago, but they had a beach volleyball tourney for the student groups at the school. Tyler's group didn't have enough people show up so they asked me to play with them. We did pretty good and had a lot of fun. I didn't get any action shots since I was playing, but here's our team after the tournament.

This is us pretending we won the tournament. We had to steal the trophy real quick.

This next thing I had to do on my own because Tyler does have to study sometimes. Every year Galveston is the beginning of a race call the Harvest Moon Regatta where people sail from Galveston to Port Arnasas (further down the coast of Texas). Hundreds of sailboat are just hanging out in the water waiting for the race to begin and it was kind of neat to see. It's kind of hard to see the sailboats out there, but I didn't want to zoom in the camera too much because there were just tons of boats spread out in the water. I would have never known about this event, but one of the sisters in the ward emailed everyone about it. When I went out to the seawall to see tons of people were pulling over in their cars and getting out to take pictures. I guess it's something that even the locals still like to watch.

I know I'm lame, but I really like doing puzzles. One of my friends let me borrow one of her puzzles to work on and it was pretty much the hardest puzzle I've done in my life. I thought I was going to finish it during conference, but I didn't even come close. Finally after forever I was able to get it done. Half of the puzzle is just trees that are all exactly the same color and Tyler had to help at the end because I was pretty much just guessing and he figured out some pattern to use. But here is the finished product! I had to take a picture because it's always such a disappointment to destroy your puzzle when you're finished.

See how many trees there are??
Lastly, I came across this awesome recipe for baby apple pies and I had to try it out. They turned out pretty tasty so I'm making some today to take to our friends for dinner tonight. Aren't they cute?

The only different for tonight is that we bought the famous (or infamous??) Blue Bell vanilla ice cream to go with them. YUM!
