Iceland

Our Iceland trip was amazing! We took so many pictures. Everywhere you looked was gorgeous scenery. It really was as beautiful as everyone says it is.

We had really great weather for most of the trip. The weather was chilly, but it didn't rain on us except for the last couple of days.

We had plenty of time to explore the whole country and catch up with our friends along the way.

We saw Geysir - the original geyser that all other geysers are named after.

Gulfoss

Pictures don't do these waterfalls justice. They are incredibly powerful!

We got to walk behind this waterfall.

Eyjafjalljokull - the one word we learned how to pronounce.

This is the volcano that exploded and almost stopped my parents from coming to our wedding.

We had gorgeous scenery hiking around. The bright green next to the black rock was stunning.

Black sand beaches everywhere

One of the highlights of the trip - a glacier lagoon tour. The icebergs bob around like corks in the lagoon. We also got to see some of the glacier break off.

We got our first paycheck while we were there.

Such a huge relief and more fun than any graduation celebration! It's all gonna be ok!

In the States there would be barriers all over the place.

The lack of barriers is also slightly terrifying.

The wind on the top of this volcano was insane.

We were going to hike around the rim, but didn't want to fight the wind the whole time so we settled for some fun wind pictures.

More waterfalls!

There were many instances where one misstep would have been certain death...

The guys hopped rocks to get out there. 

If they fell in they would have been swept away.

Tried out some local ice cream that some blogger said was good.

That person had obviously never had Blue Bell.

Whale watching!

We saw so many! We were not disappointed!

This was our worst weather day. We were supposed to hike a mountain, but it was hurricane conditions outside. We had a fun adventure getting some pictures in the wind. I have some really hilarious videos too.

There are four different stones to measure your strength.

You had to be able to lift the second heaviest to be an oarsmen and the third heaviest to be the captain. The heaviest stone is too heavy for any mortal.

We found a hot pot.

This was super fun for about two minutes when it started to downpour on our stuff and we had to get out and make a mad dash for the car.

The Blue Lagoon was super fun and cool! I wish we could have gotten some pictures inside the pool but I was too lazy to mess with holding my phone and returning it to my locker. The water was so blue and it was all steamy because the outside air was so cold. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!

We loved adventuring together! Can't wait for the next trip!
