We had a fun Christmas despite the fact that Tyler had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas. Now that Tyler is just working in the Emergency Department I've finally noticed the shift reduction that comes with second year and it feels like he has more days off. And he didn't have to go in until 10pm on Christmas so he kind of had the day off. Also my parents and Cody came and stayed with us so we weren't all alone for Christmas. It was fun showing them around Fort Worth and getting to hang out for a whole week!
Kendall is the snuggliest.
We went to Avery's school Christmas performance. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Not surprisingly, Avery is a natural performer. Kendall was captivated by the show too so family fun was had by all.
After the concert we went back to Avery's classroom for cupcakes and a gift exchange. Kendall liked being one of the big kids at the table. She is sad that she doesn't get to stay every time we drop Avery off for preschool.
Kendall looking cute one day. She is looking so grown up these days!
Tyler and I attended an ugly leggings party with some ward friends.
Yes, Tyler is wearing a mullet.
Avery put Kendall's shoes on her feet without any help from me at all! It was so sweet and I am giddy thinking about Avery turning a corner and becoming more helpful.
Grammy was the first to arrive! The girls were so excited to see her!
Building a gingerbread train with Grammy and Grandpa.
We went and checked out the water gardens downtown. Something I've been wanting to do but didn't dare do alone with two toddlers.
Uncle Cody helping Avery climb down.
At the bottom of the water gardens.
Avery insisted on the (Halloween) tutus.
Cody was reeeally excited about the giant Recees we found.
Christmas morning! The girls love their new cowgirl boots!
They each got a puppy too.
Feeding the puppy.
Avery also got a little birdie.
We had gma Chandler on video to watch the gift opening.
Lots of fun, new toys.
Sister hugs!
Trying out their new princess chapsticks.
Reading with Grandpa.
The next day we went to check out the Fort Worth stockyards.
We got some BBQ and Avery looked cute in Grandpa's sweatshirt.
Uncle Cody is always good for a shoulder ride.
Christmas decor everywhere.
The girls love their new boots!
We went down to Waco to visit Magnolia Market and stopped at Czech Stop along the way for some kolaches. Dad tried to speak Czech to the cashier, but apparently no one working at Czech Stop is actually Czech.
Avery posing on a tree.
Magnolia Market was CRAZY this visit. So. Many. People.
I went in the store for maybe 10 minutes before I couldn't take it anymore.
Mostly I just hung out outside with these cowgirls.
We did bump into Joanna Gaine's mother though! She was really sweet and friendly.
We also ran into our buddy Ethan! (Avery's friend who moved 50 minutes away). Avery had fun playing with Ethan while Grammy shopped.
The cupcakes from the bakery are SO good!
Eating cupcakes by the silos.
My cuties.
We took grammy and grandpa to Uncle Julio's for our favorite fajitas.
I love getting Christmas cards from our friends! I still haven't taken them down because I don't want Christmas to be over.
Dad came with me to help me pick up our friend's dog since they were getting in late. Penny is super friendly and was really excited to be going home!
Grammy read tons of books.
We went to the Kimbell art museum on their last day here.
And today Avery got to go to Primary for the first time!! She did awesome and was very well behaved! I have been so worried about all the sunbeams coming in, but they all did great! We only had 4/9 at church today though so next week might still be rough.
Avery helping out with the Sharing Time lesson. I'm so proud of my little sunbeam!
