I feel a little guilty for all the fun the girls and I get to have while Tyler is always at work (or sleeping... he's been doing a lot of night shifts lately so he's home, but asleep). I've taken all the advice I have received to not wait around for Tyler to be able to do things to heart and so I take the girls out for adventures every day with our new friends.
Two days after we got back from our CO trip I hosted a little birthday luncheon to celebrate my birthday. Tyler worked from 10am-midnight that day so I knew if I was going to have any fun I would have to do it myself. (Tyler did make me breakfast before he left for work though. Such a thoughtful hubby.)
We tried to squish everyone in for a picture, but it was not so easy! My girls are on my lap and didn't make the cut.
Most days we have plans to meet up with friends at a splash pad, the zoo, a pool, someones house, the park, library, etc.
Between the resident spouses and the ward there are tons of fun people to play with!
Kendall started crawling this week and gets better every day!
At first she just whined and cried the until I would come pick her up, but I think she is finally realizing the benefits of being able to move herself.
Avery is in this weird funk where sometimes she won't take a nap.
I make her stay in her room for quiet time and just hope she falls asleep eventually. Sometimes it works. Other days she stays up and then falls asleep in random places at 4pm.... not ok!
You can see in this picture she went and got her stool to climb up into Kendall's crib. Sneaky girl.
My first ever real grocery shopping trip with both girls!
I've done quick runs where I've just had to pick up a couple things, but I've never done the whole weeks worth of shopping with both. It went.... great! I think I can do this!
Avery got a bunk bed!
Someone in our ward was getting rid of theirs so we picked it up for a steal.
Avery was a little confused when we put Kendall to bed in her crib, but now she loves her new bed!
Daddy helping her with the ladder.
I finally get to put the quilt I made her on her bed! I loooove it!
I have Avery's room all decorated and I think it looks so cute. I should take some pictures for the blog.
These two making mischief together.
One of my favorite things about our house is that the kitchen is big enough that they can play in it while I'm making dinner and they aren't underfoot.
I love that they want to be around me and I can keep an eye on them while I cook. And I'm not grossed out by them playing on the kitchen floor because it's clean!
Side note: I find so much more pleasure in cleaning these days. In our apartment I would clean, but it never really looked clean no matter what I did so I felt like I was doing all this work for nothing. In our house I clean all the time because I love that it feels so clean and I actually get a reward for my labor. Who knew that mopping the floor could actually be fun! (which I get to do like 3x a day because Avery is a suuuper messy eater, yay! not.)
Avery playing with one of her new friends, Sadie.
They both drag their blankets with them wherever they go.
Computer time at the library with her friend, Ethan.
This morning we went and had breakfast at the hospital with Daddy.
Tyler worked the night shift last night so we met up with him at 8am when he got off. He got to show us around the hospital a little which I really liked. Now I can visualize where he is spending all his time these days.
Pancakes and eggs for breakfast!
Avery was in heaven.
After breakfast we headed over to the library for a little concert by Freddy Spaghetti. Actually they are called the Que Pastas, but we are Parks&Rec fans so...
Avery dancing to their fun jams.
At the end they let the kids check out the instruments.
Tomorrow I get to take the girls to church all by myself for the first time. Moms of more than two kids must laugh at my trepidation for tasks like these (and the fact that I never went grocery shopping with them until now). Maybe when I'm on my 6th kid I will feel the same, but man, it's a lot of work right now!
Also, just because I'm thinking about it right now, I must say I had an awesome day yesterday. We had a little play date in the morning with some friends and then Avery and Kendall both slept for almost two hours AND I got to take a nap too because Tyler was home and he rocked Kendall back to sleep when she woke up mid-nap (as per usual). AND we got to spend a few hours playing with Daddy in the evening before he had to go to work for the night. AND it was pay day! We have one of those now! These are the simple things that make my life so great. Tyler is the best and I love my girls. the end.

Avery looks so big with her bunk bed!
The two of them diggin in the cupboard is so cute and reminds me of my kiddos doing the same thing a long time ago. It looked fun to go meet Tyler after his shift one morning. Those are really fun times and memories!!
Ah I love so much that I can read your blog and keep up on what you're doing!! We miss you here but are so glad life is good there :) Troy totally thinks he is going to see Avery at story time every time we go haha.
