Another visit to the Colorado Grandparents

As usual, we had a fabulous time spending a couple weeks with my parents in Colorado. Avery adores my parents and they always make our visits so fun.

Avery doing some skinny dipping in the pool.

Can't get enough of those cute baby bums!

Uncle Cody lovin on Kendall.

I had Cafe Rio three times while I was there.
Had to send a picture to Tyler just to rub it in...

I always thought these excer-saucer things were dumb, but Kendall loved it!
She's really into trying to stand up right now, so it was fun for her to be able to sit and stand by herself and play with all the toys.

Swimming at the pool I used to lifeguard at.
Those were the days...

Avery insisted Grandpa take a nap on the grass with her.... ?

Both the girls were loving all the new toys at Grandma's.
Avery played with this magnetic doll dress up set every day.

Wagon rides!

Avery usually ended up pulling.

Shopping with my bestie from high school who was in town at the same time as me all the way from Germany!

I also got to meet up with my friend Diana from UTMB.
I got to introduce her to the infamous Casa Bonita in Denver.
The food is really terrible, but somehow this place has been in business ever since I was a kid, and probably way before then.

Kendall eats graham crackers now!
She also got her first tooth on this trip! She only 7 months!
Avery didn't get teeth until she was like 10-11 months. Thankfully she hasn't ever been a biter while nursing.

Avery got to try the traditional Engstrom Swedish pancakes for the first time.

Avery helping Grammy with the dishes.

My 10 year high school reunion happened to be during my trip home so I was able to meet up with a few friends from high school. My friend Sami invited us over for lunch at her house. It's always a good day when I get to have lunch with Sami :)
She also just started her intern year for residency, but for veterinarian medicine!

I also got to see my old friend Dallas and his wife and baby girl who is the same age as Kendall. Maybe they can be roommates at BYU someday :)

I went to the high school reunion that night and it was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be. It was fun to see what people have ended up doing for their careers. It didn't hurt that I got to tell everyone I'm married to a doctor!

I tried to go through some of my things my parents have been storing for me.
I came across these Furbys (anyone remember those?). I was going to get rid of them, but my dad put in new batteries and gave them to Avery. She LOVED them! It was hilarious watching her giggle at them. I think she thinks they are real!

Kendall was a little wary of them.

Yet another wagon ride with Grandpa.

And me and the girls on the way home!
I felt fully loaded going through the airport like this. I still don't know how I did it. For some reason, Avery was a perfect angel and did everything just like I asked when going through security and boarding the plane.
Tender mercy! I never loved that girl as much as I did when she was behaving so well at the airport. Even with that, I'm not dying to go on another flight with them anytime soon. Two kids is a lot to handle at the airport.

It was a happy reunion when Daddy picked us up at the other end. It warmed my heart to see Avery run into her Daddy's open arms. We are glad to be home!
