We are getting settled in to our new digs here in Fort Worth and loving it! Some pics of what we are up to...
Avery and I got our new library cards!!
There have been a few events for new residents that we've been going to.
Here's Kendall hanging out on our picnic blanket.
We bought a car!!!!
It's a 2007 Ford Fusion. We are super excited about it, especially me!
Automatic locks... I'm one spoiled woman!
Also, this is the first car I've ever bought in my life. Tyler let me put the title in my name so it's official :)
We got Texas driver's licenses.
My cuties taking a bath together.
I was trying to get a picture of the back of their necks. They both have the same birth mark that I do... a small red splotch on their upper neck under their hair. You can't tell in the picture, but how cool is that?
Kendall looking super cute in Avery's In N Out hat.
Did we tell you we have one 10 minutes from our house?!
Tyler got a selfie stick at orientation and we've been having fun playing around with it.
Out walking on our paved neighborhood streets!
The things you don't appreciate until you have to do without them.
Avery balancing on the curb during our walk.
Another resident event.
The doctor who hosted this had an amazing set up. He lives right on Lake Worth and had this enormous, beautiful backyard shaded with big trees. He had a volleyball court, playground, and swimming pool. (And guest house, but we didn't use that). It was a beautiful property. They hosted a BBQ there and it was really fun to get to know the resident families better.
There are a lot of residents with families, which is really fun for me. I have already done several get togethers just with the wives and they are so great. I'm glad there are going to be some fun people to hang out with here the next few years.
We got a membership to the Fort Worth zoo and they have a splash pad too.
I met up with a few other resident wives to check it out.
Avery loved it! We are going to be regulars during the hot, hot summer!
Kendall liked it ok... haha
Checking out the park next to the library.
I love that we can be outside and not eaten alive by mosquitos!
Tyler got his long white coat and monogrammed scrubs.
Avery's new favorite thing is climbing into Kendall's crib with her.
They are pretty cute together.
I love Avery's face! haha!
My new friend invited us over to swim at her community pool.
It had a huge toddler pool with shallow water, which I loved because Avery could "swim" by herself. I'm learning that all people do around here in the summer is go to the pool or splash pad to beat the heat. It's great!
Kendall cutie. She just goes along with whatever :)
Also, check out those thighs.
Tyler's first paycheck in, like.... a decade???
We wish it had a few extra 0's on the end to keep up with all the spending we've been doing around here lately. Haha, but seriously.
I feel like I am started to get to know more people and have some friends to do fun things with. I'm glad there are some other fun mom's to hang out with. Also, I think this is the first time in my life that I am more comfortable hanging out with a group that is non-Mormon. I feel like I relate to the resident wives better than the Mormon moms from the ward I've gotten to know. There is something about the path to becoming a doctor that people don't understand unless they have been through it (in my case, vicariously through Tyler).
Tyler is done with his orientation and starts his first real rotation in the ER this week! I am leaving with the girls to go out to CO to visit family for the next two weeks. I think it's a timely departure since Tyler will be working the next 7 days straight. Residency... here we go!
