Moving to Fort Worth

We are finally getting unpacked and settled here in our new house! We LOOOOOOVE it!!! I cannot stress how much we love living in our new house. It is worlds above our living circumstances in Galveston. I think about how much I love our new house literally every second of every day. It's clean, it's big, it's modern. I love, love, love it! I will put up some pictures at the end, but first, some pictures from our visit with Tyler's parents!

They were troopers and came for the graduation and then helped us move. I'm sure it was kind of a miserable "vacation" for them since we were in transit the entire time. We weren't very accommodating hosts. But we did squeeze in some fun in between all the moving and Avery and Kendall loved all the extra attention.

We visited the Fort Worth Zoo. This place totally lived up to the hype!
It was amazing! It is only 15 minutes away from us, so I want to get a zoo pass!

Daddy and Avery feeding the birds.

Avery loved running around in the water to cool off.

Snow cones to cool off!

Eating at Torchy's Tacos! Another place that lived up to it's reputation.
Thanks for the tip, Diana! The fried avocado taco is to die for. yummm...

We visited the Fort Worth nature refuge and hiked around.
It was beautiful, but hot!

Avery thought she needed to be carried 100% of the time.

Grandma is so obliging.

And now for some moving pictures.
Tyler's mom took this picture of our car and Uhaul driving off the island for the last time :(

The drive took us about 6 hours with our stop included. The kids did pretty good, but we were all happy to be out of the car! We came into the house and just stretched out on our nice, clean carpets enjoying the space and A/C!

Shopping for furniture...

...and unpacking.

Our big purchases include...
A new couch!
This thing is enormous and so comfortable and as you can see Avery thinks it is her personal trampoline.

And a new King sized bed!! woohoo!
Now I don't have Tyler's elbows poking me in the back all night!

A new washer and dryer!
I have suffered with the coin operated laundry machines from our apartments long enough. I told Tyler I will never complain about laundry again. It is such a pleasure to do now. Sometimes I even do a load on Sunday just because it doesn't feel like any work at all! I can't even express how much I loathed those washing machines and how much I love our new ones.

We also got a new toy organizer for the girls' toys.
We were impressed with how good of a job Avery did with helping Daddy with the screws.

New desk.
We got this off craigslist and it got busted up pretty bad moving it to our house.
Tyler spent a few hours putting it back together and it looks great and is even sturdier than before.

And I think that was it for big purchases. But they were some pretty big purchases. I try not to think about how much money we've spent in the last two weeks. Also, it seems like every store we go into, we end up spending 100 bucks before we walk out. Moving is expensive! :(

But here are some pictures of our house that we are so in love with!
It's not quite all put together yet, but definitely live-able.

Kitchen!

More kitchen. Do you spy Kendall?

I love all my countertop space and cabinets and drawers that open and close properly and appliances that work well!

New couch and desk in the background.
And Avery watching Cinderella in her Cinderella dress.

We made a little nook behind the couch for the toys. I like that it's out in the main room, but also hidden behind the couch so you can't see the mess from the front door :)

View of the front door/great room.

Laundry room <3 <3 <3

Garage! Two car, but we only have one car... for now.

Avery's room. We are shopping for a twin bed for her.

Kendall's room. She's still sleeping in the pack n play till we get Avery a new bed. I am getting way better sleep with her out of our room. She still wakes up once or twice at night, but I am expecting that (or planning to force it) to become once and soon none! In the meantime, I don't hear every squeak she makes so I can actually sleep while she is sleeping.

Girl's bathroom.

Our room with King bed!! I'm shopping for a King sized bedspread...

Master bath. Two sinks!
This bathroom has horrible towel rack locations and you have to turn on three separate lights for the whole bathroom and closet to be lit. Weird. Probably my biggest pet peeve in the entire house.

Shower and closet. The toilet is opposite the shower.

Tyler at his desk.

Avery coloring with chalk out on the back patio.
We haven't used our yard too much yet. It's pretty hot during the day and we have no shade and nothing to play with in the backyard for now, but I know we are going to end up loving it!

And that's our house! I'm looking forward to getting it all decorated the way I want and getting everything settled into it's new place. We're still a work in progress, but still loving every minute we get to live here!

Everything looks so great! I just wish we could drive on over real quick and see it in person! My favorite picture was the one of you hugging your washing machine- it literally made me laugh out loud and Jason liked it too :)
