Kendall is 7 weeks old now and we are starting to figure out this whole 2 kids thing. Logically, it seems like it should be easy. We have a 1:1 ratio of adults to kids so it shouldn't be hard, right? But at times when both the babies are crying and when we're in the middle of dinner or baths or something, it seems like we are still short several pairs of hands.
But, thankfully, we are getting it under control. I don't even panic when Tyler leaves for a couple hours to go to class or the gym. In fact, I'm even letting him leave me for 4 days to go to Supercross in California this week! Am I nice or what?
Avery is actually an awesome big sister. She always wants to help take care of Kendall by patting her back or covering her with her blanket. When she cries, Avery runs over to her and says "no cry!" It's so cute.
We make sure to give Avery lots of attention so she knows we still love her. This is a favorite book right now. "Very Little Red Riding Hood". It's so cute. Avery calls it the "scary book" because of the wolf.
A few weeks ago Tyler had to go on his last two interviews and was gone for 4 days. I sat Avery down for lunch while I nursed Kendall and this is what happened. This is rice. All. Over. There was nothing I could do to stop the carnage until I was done nursing the baby. I sent Tyler is picture so he would stop belly aching about all his long layovers in airports ;-)
My friend Kim crocheted these matching hats for my girls. They are adorable! It's really hard to get Kendall to pose for pictures. She just wants to be held by her mama.
A new favorite past time of Avery's is having Kendall lay in her crib. She likes to cover her with a blanket and lay down next to her and pat her tummy. I wish Kendall liked it better... I could get a lot done!
Avery is super helpful carrying Kendall in the car seat. (It's actually really annoying and makes it 10x harder to carry, but it's so dang cute we always let her do it anyway.)
This girl knows how to accessorize.
Daddy snuggles.
Another picture of Avery snuggle Kendall in the crib. Avery is completed unphased by her crying.
Avery has really gotten into exercising with me lately. She likes to go pull out my workout clothes (or in this case, swimsuit) to exercise.
Little cutie
Other little cutie.
Cupcake jammies from Kim!
Go Cougs!
This is what happens when you have a big sister and lots of hair.
Lots and lots of bows.
Park day!
We have tons of pictures like this of Avery. We are trying to remember to take them of Kendall! Poor second child. Isn't she so cute?
If you haven't noticed, she wears a bib all the time because this baby spits up A LOT. It is gross and I can't wait for her to be done with this. I've never done so much laundry in my life. The other day, she spit up so much on me that I had to change my underwear! gah!
Avery knows all about spit up because we talk about it so much. She always run to get a clean burp cloth every time she sees spit up on Kendall's mouth. So we always have like 10 burp cloths laying around the house. Also, Avery threw up on Saturday night (which is only the second time in her life she's every thrown up) and as Tyler was holding her over the sink she feebly croaked out "I spit up"
Yeah, we are all pros on vomit over here.
This made Avery so happy. Too bad Kendall hated it.
Avery gets to watch a lot more tv than she used to. Partly because she actually likes it now and partly because sometimes I just need to get stuff done! I thought it was tough with just Avery, but with two kids, and one of them nursing every two hours I feel like I never do anything but take care of them.
I went with my friend Mary to get her ears pierced for her birthday! It was my first big outing with both kids by myself. It didn't really count because Mary helped with Avery a lot, but still!
Daddy snuggles.
More exercising with mommy.
(Getting that baby weight off is way harder with the second kid!)

Avery is waaay more flexible than me.
Sometimes things are peaceful and under control around here.
Kendall put herself to sleep in the crib when Avery was taking a bath the other day. That was awesome!
We think she looks so cute when she's a little burrito!
Sometimes we eat our after nap snack on the floor, on our back, under the boppy. Whatever floats your boat, girl.
Tyler went to VooDoo doughnuts on his trip out to Portland.
I feel like we are getting into a normal routine and I am not so exhausted all the time now. Kendall sleeps pretty good. If I put her down at 10, she usually only gets up once around 4 and then sleeps till 8ish when Avery gets up. Also, Avery is really nice about playing in her crib in the morning so I never get her until Kendall wakes up. I've been so grateful that Tyler has been around so much. It has helped make the transition so much smoother! By the time he starts residency this summer, I'll be a pro!
