This was our first Christmas staying home instead of going to visit one of our families. Even though we missed being with our families, I really loved being here. I decorated the apartment and we even bought a Christmas tree, which made everything really festive and fun. Plus, we had my parents come down to celebrate with us so we did get a little family time.
My mom came down a few days after Kendall was born and my Dad came down on Christmas Eve. We loved having them stay with us. They were a huge help entertaining Avery so I could take care of the baby. Avery is a huge fan of her Grammy and Grandpa now and keeps asking "Where Grammy?" "Where Grampa?" every day. And then she tells herself "air-pane, home" because we told her they went on an airplane back to their house.
Sidenote: Avery is seriously the cutest thing on the planet right now. She is really into repeating everything we say and just being a big copycat in general. She is our little shadow and you can't walk around the house without bumping into her because she just follows us around everywhere doing whatever we're doing. It's so fun to be able to have a conversation with her a little bit and figure out what's going on in her little head. She loves to sing songs and chatter constantly about who knows what. And today she even tried to read me Hop on Pop. She is growing up so fast!
Avery loves books and loves holding her baby sister.
We do a lot of both right now.
Kendall has been such a sweet baby and even thought I'm sleep deprived, I really like having a newborn babe around again. They are so snuggly and sweet! My mom has been awesome to have around because she is taking care of Avery so I've been able to just hold Kendall all the time. I thought I would never get to since I expected to be chasing Avery around all the time so I'm glad I've gotten some good snuggle time in with my baby girl.
We tried to do a few things while my parents were here to show them around Galveston. We didn't go out too much because I wanted to keep Kendall indoors, but we did make a couple outings.
Bike ride on the seawall.
Treats at Rita's.
A walk on the beach.
We even made it over to visit the Doxeys. I really wanted a picture of Avery and Troy with their little sister and brother.
Avery and Troy are only a week apart in age and Kendall and Henry are only 2 days apart!
Avery is such a little mommy to Kendall. She loves to take care of her. She always runs over with her special blanket when Kendall cries. She also loves to share her food with Kendall. We have to tell her all the time that Kendall only gets "mommy milk". She also loves to share all her toys with Kendall. We have to watch Avery really closely around Kendall so she doesn't love her up too much by squishing her or hitting her in the face with toys.
Avery gets a little bit jealous of Kendall, mostly when we are focusing a lot of attention on her. Like when we were trying to take a picture of her in the outfit my Grandma sent her. Avery wanted to be in the picture too...
We were able to sneak one in without Avery.... look at this little cutie!
Christmas was so fun. It is so much more fun with kids! Last year Avery was too small to care, but now she is at an age where she is excited by so many things so it was hard not to spoil her with too many toys. My parents were feeling the same way so Avery probably just had the best Christmas she will ever have in her life. Her favorite toy has probably been the tent my parents got her. She calls it her "tunnel" for some reason. She loves hanging out in there and for us to chase after her so she can hide in it.
Dad and Tyler setting up the play yard for Kendall.
All ready for Christmas!
Kendall in her Christmas jammies. She wasn't very excited about Christmas.
One of my favorite presents from Tyler. Seashells from our honeymoon in Cancun and from here in Galveston. He found the bottles and had our friend make the labels for them.
We blessed Kendall while my Dad was here in town. She wore the same blessing dress that Avery wore, which is the same dress I was blessed in. My mom made it from leftover material from her wedding dress. Tyler blessed Kendall to be a leader in her family and to those around her and to always have a testimony of Jesus Christ.
These cuties.
We have been doing a lot of laying around these last few weeks.
Tyler with his girls.
So far life with two has been a little hectic. We are still trying to get the hang of it. I feel like I never have time to check my email, let alone blog, so this is a miracle. We just dropped Tyler off at the airport to go on two more interviews. Pray for me. I have 4 days all by myself with these two cuties. But, Tyler pointed out to me this morning that Kendall is a month old today! 1 month down already! Even though I'm tired, I'm a little sad time is going so fast. They are small for such a short time! Now, off to take a nap...

Ha! The pictures are great and I enjoyed reliving our visit with your family! What a fun time! I love telling the story of Avery finding the suckers in her trike trunk Christmas morning (to whoever will listen...). They are so cute laying in Avery's crib together!!! She's a sweet "big" sister.
