First Test Down

We are finally getting settled into a pretty normal routine here in Galveston. Every morning Tyler heads out to class at 8am and I head off to the gym. (Tyler claims I still sleep for another couple hours after he's left, but I'm really only a few minutes behind him). After the gym I come home and do whatever wifely duties need to be done like cleaning, grocery shopping, getting dinner ready, etc and then I start working at noon, which unfortunately, is right when Tyler gets home for lunch. We really hate that our schedules are so opposite. But Tyler says that the fact that I am working for the rest of the afternoon/early evening motivates him to get some things done since I'm not available to play. He usually comes home and eats lunch and takes a little power nap and then heads off to the gym for a couple hours. Then he'll come home and shower and head back to the library to get a couple hours of studying in before dinner. After dinner we get to spend a couple hours together hanging out. We still have our Netflix account so we usually watch a movie every few days.

And that's pretty much our routine. I've been really surprised that Tyler doesn't have to spend more time studying. I think part of it is because he's taken a couple anatomy classes before so he feels pretty comfortable with what their learning. He says it's fast, but most of what they are learning right now is familiar to him. It's been really awesome though because when I'm not working we get to hang out. We like to play racquetball or go to the gym together and then go jump in our apt complex pool for a little bit. We are trying to work on our tans, but we're not making much progress. It might have to wait until next summer.

On Friday I went out with a couple of the girls to an Indian restaurant on the mainland. MOM, you would have loved it!! It was super delicious and I think I have a new favorite dish. I would tell you what it was, but I can't pronounce it. Or spell it.

While I was out to lunch, Tyler was taking his first Anatomy test. He did great and had the rest of the weekend to relax!! No more studying till Monday! On the other hand, I was asked on Thursday to prepare a talk for Sunday so I had to spend my weekend worrying about what I was going to say. Of course I didn't start writing it until Saturday night at like 10pm, but I guess it went okay. I figure if you don't do too good of a job then they won't ask you to talk very often. Just kidding... but seriously.

On Saturday the stake had a dinner for the Relief Society before the General Relief Society Broadcast so I carpooled with some girls from the ward up to the Stake Center and we had a fun time chatting. We heard the men had a girls day.... I mean MENS day while we were away. haha! Tyler said they watched The Notebook and swapped recipes.

Anyway, this post is getting kinda long, but that is what we have been up to! I wish I had some pictures to post, but I haven't been very good about taking pictures. I wished I would have taken one of the Schnitzel I made for dinner today (Tyler's idea!), but we were too hungry to even think about that when the time came. Maybe I'll get one later this week when I make it again. It was GOOD!

Chandra! It sounds like life is great there! We love watching movies at night, too. Also, we were just talking about you guys. I told Adam that they should have gone to the same school so we could have hung out more. =) I love reading your blog- it's the next best thing. haha.

Okay, we need to hit your Indian restaurant when we visit. Bryce and I went to ours yesterday, it wasn't the same without you! And tell Tyler I need copies of any good recipes he picked up....
