The last couple months

I made Torchy's queso. It turned out really good, but even spicier than the real thing.
If I make it again I'll leave out some of the chilies, but it was so much work I don't think I'll make it again unless we move away from Torchys!

Tyler spotted a mouse in our garage so we set out a sticky trap.
The girls thought the mouse was so cute and wanted to keep it as a pet.

Valentine's Day!

Valentine's from Grandma and Grandpa Hedman!

We made pink heart pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream.

And for dinner we had all red/pink food.

This was the beginning of the Snowpocalypse. It was a frozen tundra!
And so, so cold. Single digit temps!

To prepare, we foraged a bunch of scrap wood from the construction sites in our neighborhood.
We kept a roaring fire going for days.
One night are power went out right when I was going to start cooking dinner so we roasted hot dogs on our fire instead.
We are fortunate that we didn't lose power except for the rolling outages and we had warm water and plenty of food the whole time. We just holed up in our house and rode it out. It was a fun family memory for us. Lots of family time and no commitments. Everything was canceled!

Pro hot dog roaster.

We started to run out of firewood toward the end so Tyler had to break down some pallets we had.
I don't know how we could stand being out there in short sleeves! It was freezing!

Queen Reagan looking so regal.

We watched the primary Friend to Friend event and thought it was so great!
The kids were all engaged and liked it. They learned how to draw a praying child.

On one of Tyler's days off we took Reagan and Sawyer to the zoo.
We snuck in our own lettuce to feed the giraffes.

I made a Cat in the Hat after school snack for Dr. Seuss Day.
The kids were very impressed lol

My first stop at Bucee's. It lived up to the hype!

I went on an overnight trip with some girlfriends from church.
We drove down to the Woodlands to run a 10k.
It was super fun to get away from all the mom responsibilities.
Tyler gets huge props for making it happen. His virtual oral boards ended up being scheduled for the same day as my race. Even though he was stressed about his test he still said he would take care of the kids. We had to coordinate a babysitter to take the kids while he was doing his exam and we were worried about the kids being sick because 4/6 of us had a stomach bug the week before and we thought the last two kids might get sick the night I was gone... but it all worked out great!
Tyler thinks his exam went well (he'll find out in 90 days if he passed) and no one got sick!
And I got the eat Cheesecake Factory with my friends and have lots of girl time!

There was a mix up with our hotel and it didn't have a sofa bed like we were expecting.
So three of us snuggled up in a King bed for the night. LOL!

Waiting for the race to start!

Got my medal!
I haven't been able to run very long distances because having babies has messed up my pelvic floor, but I've been doing PT exercises and trying to build up my tolerance. I can tell I'm getting stronger and running 6 miles was a big victory for me! Hoping to train for a half marathon in the fall if I can.

26th female finisher! Pretty good!
My time was 20 seconds faster than the Bolder Boulder 10k I ran in high school.
Not too shabby for this old lady mom of 4!

Took the kids on a walk at Bailey Lake.
Sawyer LOVED the ducks!

Kendall finally got brave enough to learn to ride her bike without training wheels!
It took her a few days of practice to get it down, but she's a pro now!

Pictures at the lake.

Three sisters

Tyler and I were twinning at the gym one day.

Rodeo Goat date before Arlington Supercross.

During Spring Break we went hiking at Cleburne State Park.

We found lots of fossils in the rocks.

Sawyer did a surprising amount of hiking!

The Bluebonnets are starting to bloom!

"I drew a people!"

Got Sawyer his first white dress shirt for church. The first of many...
He looked so handsome and grown up!

Tyler hadn't been to church with us in a few weeks so when he was finally able to come all the kids wanted to sit with him. It was a very enjoyable service for me!

Sawyer really loves Tyler. It's so cute.

I tried to get some pictures of Avery in her baptism dress.
It was very sunny and windy and cold so not really ideal conditions but I think we got a couple good ones.

Almost 8!

Kendall has lost 3 teeth in 2 weeks!

We told her she's going to run out of teeth soon!

Everyone wants to snuggle Dad.

The girls and neighbor friends had a lemonade stand. They made $95!!
The sign cracked me up.
"Get your lemonade. 1 or 2 dimes. Free drawing."
We have very kind neighbors!

Doing primary zoom. They are over it.
Reagan and Sawyer are cute though.
