We had a really fun trip to Colorado last week to go skiing with the Engstroms.
Tyler and I got to ski every day and we took Avery three times so she got in some good practice for her first time!
We also had Avery's open house at school and got to see what she's been working on. Now the kids are on spring break and we have some fun activities planned for the week!
We had fun celebrating Valentine's Day with the kids!
Flowers, bath bombs, treats, and Tyler got them dragons from How To Train Your Dragon and a coupon for a movie date!
The girls were very surprised and excited and it wasn't even hard to get Avery up for school! (for once)
Heart pancakes with berries and whipped cream for breakfast.
Avery with Toothless.
Fun decorations
Making heart pizza for dinner
Kendall with her dessert spread
Valentine's Dinner!
Chocolate covered strawberries: a dessert everyone in the family loves!
Arlington Supercross!
Our annual supercross date.
Breakfast date at Snooze.
We let Reagan tag along.
We have community mailboxes at our new house and Avery loves to go and get the mail on her scooter after school. She uses this little bag and makes the cutest messenger girl!
Back on the mountain!
We had such a great trip! The slopes were nearly empty the first few days we were there and the weather was beautiful. We had a lot of fun skiing just the two of us the first day before everyone else arrived.
We took Avery out for her first time skiing and she did really great on her first day. We were really happy with her first day progress, but day two she didn't want to work on her turns like we wanted her to and we got frustrated.
Day three: ski school. haha!
She came away from the trip asking to ski more though so overall it was a success!
My mom was awesome and stayed at the mountain house with the girls every day while we skiied. What a great Grandma!
Grandpa reading with Kendall
Avery looking good on her skis!
We got the play in the snow a bunch too!
Dad got stuck.
Tyler attacked the moguls! He is getting really good!
(see also: no one on the slopes!!)
Grandpa resting with Avery while she was pouting about finishing the run.
Grandpa made Swedish pancakes for breakfast!
The girls love them.
Hot tubbing the snow. Reagan loved watching from the window.
Sledding with Dad! This was Kendall's favorite activity.
What a good Dad.
Kendall lasted a lot longer than I expected her to once we made her start hiking back up on her own. She loved sledding!
A storm came the last day and we got some really nice powder to ski in.
The best!
Aunt Kenzie stayed home with the kids so my mom could come ski for a day.
We had such a great trip. Can't wait for next year!
We got to go check out Avery's school and see what she's been learning about.
She's showing Dad and Kendall the rock station.
She had some writing samples in her folder. I thought this one was funny.
"This is my guest room. It is for guests. I go in it sometimes, but it is really for guests."
She's really stretching for writing material!
Playing in the music room.
Reagan loved it.
We got bar stools for the island! Hooray!
