Animal Safari and Avery's Birthday

We finally went to the Fossil Rim Animal Safari. It's a little pricey, but totally worth it! We had so much fun feeding the animals and the girls loved that they could walk around the car without seat belts (!!) while we drove around. We went on a perfect day that wasn't too hot and no one was there.

The ostriches are pretty aggressive and come right up to your car for treats.
It was hilarious and kind of scary! They just stick their long necks right in the car!

Kendall rode on Daddy's lap for a lot of it.
We love getting to spend time with Daddy!

The animals are not shy and come right up to the car.

Avery was super brave and fed them right out of her hand!

We were really excited to feed the giraffes, but we couldn't get them to come over to our car :(

They preferred the leaves in the trees to our treats. Next time I'm going to bring a tree branch in the car.

The car ahead of us somehow got them to come over, but they still didn't want anything to do with us. Sad day :(

At the petting zoo. Avery loved the goats.

We went to a dinner party where our friends made us smoked brisket.
Avery and Olivia are always up to some sort of shenanigans.

Kendall and Elena loved playing in the dog cage.

Crepes and cupcakes for breakfast on Avery's birthday!
Tyler worked all day and didn't even get to see Avery that day so we didn't really celebrate much on her actual birthday.
I love her sweet smile in this picture.

Food for Avery's garden party!

We had a rock painting station and Kendall stayed here for at least half an hour.

Singing Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girl!

Blowing out the candles!

Avery gave me a sweet hug after for no reason. It was so cute. I guess she liked her party!

A cute smile for Daddy.

Cupcakes on the porch!

All the friends!

Avery and Kendall had fun playing with all of Avery's new presents. Avery was really sweet and let Kendall play with her new toys.

The next day we had the ward Easter party.

Avery wore a white dress and was off running around with other kids. She came and found me and had a bloody nose and blood aaaaaall over her new white dress. This was right before I was supposed to be getting the egg hunt started for all the kids. Someone had some extra clothes in their car for Avery to borrow and we quickly tried to clean her up before she missed the whole egg hunt. I was able to wash out her dress in the bathroom and get all the blood out before it dried. It was a stressful start to the day especially since I have been sick all week with a cold and didn't really want to be there in the first place. Luckily someone brought donuts and that made it all better.

Kendall and the other babies loved all the candy.

That afternoon we finally had a minute to open all of Avery's family presents.
Money from Gramma and Grampa!

Opening presents.

She got a running outfit (shoes included!) so she could go on runs with Daddy!
She looks so grown up!!

Puppy Surprise!

Avery had a great birthday! For some reason she keeps saying she doesn't want to be 4 and just wants to stay 3, but she doesn't seem to mind all the presents and attention! It is so fun to watch Avery grow. I'm so lucky to be her mom!
