Grammy's visit

My mom came and stayed with us for two weeks. We had a great time having her here and I think tomorrow is going to be rough adjusting back to single mom life. It is way easier to go out with the kids when you have two sets of hands! The girls just adore her and the two weeks really flew by. We are already planning the next visit! Here are pictures from the last couple weeks while she was here.

This face... She always looks so cute snuggled up with Daddy at church even when she's sad.

Playing with Daddy.
Tyler's schedule has been so nice and easy for the last 6 weeks. It has been so nice having him home and getting to spend more time together.

....Doing things like playing kitchen!

I thought Kendall looked so cute, I had to take a picture.
She wanted me to hold her while I was trying to do my exercise one morning. I put her on the changing table pad and covered her with a blanket and she stayed like this for 10 minutes while I exercised!

Paul's donuts for breakfast!

Kendall loves her "prinkle" donuts!

We took my mom to Paul's for lunch.
Best gyros in town!

Avery... I mean Snow White and Kendall checking out the donuts and coo-coos (cookies)

Avery is not a shy girl. She's helping the owner stock the fridge with more beverages.

We went to the zoo! Tyler had conference at the zoo that day and he was able to meet up with us once his meeting was over.

We went to the park!

My mom helped me make the mermaid tail for Avery's birthday.

We painted toes.
(during General Conference)

Grammy taught the family night lesson on earning/saving money.

Tyler and I got to go on LOTS of dates. Like tons. We went out probably half the nights she was here. It was so fun. This night we tried out Rodeo Goat burgers.

We caught a snake! I spotted him under the trash can and Tyler came and got him so the girls could see him. They were really into it. It was so cute to see them squealing about it.

Petting him.

Avery capturing it in the bucket.

My mom rearranged my entire pantry. I had a bunch of pantry food stuck back in Avery's room because I "didn't have room for it" but my mom found a way and now all my food is in the kitchen where it belongs.
This woman seriously needs to charge for her services. She is a professional organizer.

I let the girls play with the pinto beans. Huge mistake. Kendall just started throwing beans at random. They were eeeeeverywheeere.

We went to a comedy club in Dallas. It was so funny! We really enjoyed it.
The headliner was Adam Ferrara, the guy from Top Gear.

We got to go to the Dallas temple for the first time since we moved here.
It was really wonderful and I hope we can make it back more often.

It was a tender mercy coming out of the temple and seeing some of our good friends from Galveston outside!! Kim was photographing a wedding and the timing worked out so perfectly that we came out as they were waiting for the bride and groom. We got to talk with them for a few minutes and give them a quick hug before we parted ways. It was the cherry on top of the visit to the temple.

Hugs for Daddy before church.

Avery wanted Daddy to dance with her and made him put his hands in the right spots instead of just holding hands.

Trying to take some nice pictures before church. It's impossible with two squirmy toddlers.

By the time we got to pictures with Daddy they were all pictured out.

We drove down to Waco to check out Magnolia Market from the show Fixer Upper. Kendall is all into pushing the stroller on her own.

Magnolia Market!

They had this big grassy area outside the store where you could relax and play with balls.

Goats!

Avery loved the fairy gardens.

In front of the silos!

We went on a movie date. We went to the down town theater because we liked the showtime better and the theater turned out to be super fancy with reclining leather seats. We will definitely be watching all future movies here!
(Tyler wore his scrubs in case he got called in to do a pericardiocentesis (a super rare procedure residents never get to do, but they said they would call him if the guy ended up needing it)... didn't happen)

We were so sad my mom had to leave this morning. Tyler starts ICU next month so I might need her to come back in May to help me keep my sanity.

I love getting little glimpses of your everyday life! I seriously think your mom is one of the cutest, most attentive grandmas I've ever seen in my life! You and the girls are so fortunate to have her. So glad that Tyler has been able to have more time around his girls..it looks like you've had such a wonderful few weeks.

I'm so glad you got some time with Tyler... and Grandma! Wish I lived closer so I could help you survive May. And PS, we went to a movie here and they had recliner seats, too! SO AWESOME!
