Avery's 3rd Birthday

We had such a fun day celebrating Avery's 3rd birthday! It's pretty easy to make a 3 year old happy so we didn't have to set the bar too high. Avery had her princess party in the morning with her friends and then we had our family party and gifts when Tyler got home from work that afternoon. Avery didn't have to go to her room for quiet time and got to stay up playing with her new toys and we got to go out for frozen yogurt after dinner so we kept the party going all day long. Avery got to stay up late too (till 10:30!) playing with Daddy so she got spoiled and got to do all the things she loves to do. She was completely wired from her day of fun and was so giggly and hyper and running around in circles the entire day. I think she had a pretty fun day!

Today Avery has been saying "I don't want to be three! I want to be two!" and when I asked her why she said "because I want to turn three AGAIN!" so I think that means she had a pretty fun day!

Getting all ready for her princess party!!
Avery asked for a "brown cake" (chocolate) with purple frosting.
The cake is a princess dress if you can't tell.

I'm made princess slime for the kids to play with. I put jewels in it for them to dig out. I almost didn't do it since I was running out of time, but I'm glad I did because they kids were enjoyed it and were entertained for a long time!

The weather was perfect for them to be outside. Not too hot and a little breeze to keep it cool in our unshaded backyard.

Avery chose to wear her new Princess Sofia dress from Gramma Hedman to the party.

Tyler drew this amazing princess crown for the kids to drawn on and decorate.

Getting ready to sing to the birthday girl!
Avery LOVES getting sung to.

The kids waiting to dig into the cupcakes.

Blowing out her 3 candles!

It took her like a full minute to get all the candles blown out.

Enjoying her cupcake!

Cupcakes with friends!
(Ethan hates pictures)

Princesses who potty together, stay together!
(This was their idea, not mine)

Opening presents!

Only missing one princess and three little sisters from the picture.
It was a mad house!

Avery and Charlotte. I just love these two together. Such sweet friends.
(We have Charlotte to thank for Avery's current Princess Sofia obsession).

Watching Princess Sofia while Kendall naps. She wouldn't put down her new toys (a tea set and a Princess Sofia)

I was so glad my mom was here to help me get the house back in order after the party. It was a huge mess! But it didn't take too long with the two of us working together and Avery and Kendall distracted by the new toys.

Ready for presents, round two!
Tyler got home from work around 4pm and got the spend a lot of time with Avery on her birthday.

Grammy sewed her an apron for her play kitchen.
It fits perfectly!

Of course Kendall couldn't be left out.
These two look so cute together!

A Belle dress from Grammy!
We tried to get her to put the straps on her shoulders, but she wanted them to be down just like Belle haha

Kendall playing with the new ice creams with Da-da

Avery trying out her mermaid tail I made for her. She said "it's too big" haha
Maybe she'll like it better later.

Everyone in the mermaid tail.

Avery got some Princess Sofia figures to play with.
She loves them!

After dinner we took our Princess to Sweet Frog for frozen yogurt.
I sure do love this crazy girl of mine. She is a challenge, but her cute little personality is coming out and she cracks me up all the time.
I feel so blessed to be her mama.

Kendall ready to dig in!
(jk, that's mine)

Avery was SO happy the whole day. She was having so much fun being the center of attention.

I can't believe it's been 3 years since I became a mama!

Grammy with her girls.
We're so happy she could be here with us to celebrate.

Staying up late playing ice cream shop with Daddy.
Avery loved all the attention he gave her. It was really sweet. I'm so glad Tyler was able to be home and spend some time with her.

3 scoops?!

Avery doesn't usually take a nap anymore, but today she crashed during quiet time. She's all partied out!

We love our Avery girl! Happy Birthday, Sweetheart!

I love her logic of staying two so she can turn three again! She is adorable! I think your princess cake turned out great and what a fun idea to make princess slime.
