Birding and house hunting

We have been trying to go birding with the Ed Ferrin for a long time now and we finally got it done! He took us to the High Island Rookery over on the Bolivar peninsula. Ed is an amazing bird photographer and it was fun to see one of the places he gets a lot of his pictures from.

Avery with her binoculars.

Ed had a really nice set of binoculars he let us use.
All of those white spots in the trees are the birds. There were hundreds!

Ed with his camera and Tyler with the binocs.

We tried out Kendall in the big girl seat for the first time.
She liked being able to sit up and see a little better.

"Take my picture, Mommy!"
and then, "I wan see!" (the picture)

Getting the right angle.

The path was really beautiful. I wish the hike was longer!

Riding the ferry back home.

The next day with took off to drive up to Fort Worth and look at a house I had found online. I have been looking at houses for a long time, but if there is one available they want you to sign the contract right away and we didn't want to pay rent for months that we wouldn't be living there. So I waited until we got back from our cruise to get serious about it. I was getting a little discouraged because it seemed like all the best places I had found from before the cruise had disappeared by the time we were ready to rent. But I totally lucked out and found this cute little house that met ALL of my criteria! It's close to the hospital, in our price range, updated kitchen and bathrooms, refrigerator included (rare in fort worth rental market, who knew?), carpet throughout the house was preferable (except the kitchen), backyard, 3 bedroom, 2 bath.... it has everything!! I couldn't be happier about it.

I neglected to get pictures of the inside.
I'll have to post more when we move there in 2 weeks!

One of the residents had offered to let us come stay at his house when we came up to look for housing. He had a really sweet dog named Benny and Avery LOVED him. She was totally entertained by Benny chasing her around and licking every inch of her body.

I thought I was a dog person, but all the dog hair, slobber, and smell was too much for me even though he really was a sweet dog. Sorry Avery, we will not be getting a dog.

Avery refused to nap the entire drive up there (or back) and finally crashed at 6pm. We let her sleep for like 10 minutes, but then made her wake up so she would go to bed at night. It was really hard to get up though. I also wanted a nap...

Avery's all tucked in for the night with her border of pillows to keep her from falling off the bed.

Another view of our cute little house!
I am soooo excited to move into it!

The bird watching pics are so cute! One of my favorites is Avery kneeling down next to Tyler with the binoculars! And Kendall is SO ready for the big girl stroller seat!! Such a sweetie pie!
