Father's Day and other stuff

We are all counting down the days until Tyler is done with his last rotation of third year. (Next week is his last week!) We're all tired of the long hours and long days. In the meantime, we try to have a little fun to keep Tyler from going crazy.

The last couple Saturdays we've spent hanging out at our friend's pool.
It is so hot around here and it's hard to make yourself get out of the water.
Avery has gotten super tan and I get comments on it all the time.

Avery is figuring out how to smile for the camera. I love this sweet face!
This pic was taken at my last baby dr appt. I am 15 weeks today!

One day I asked Tyler to go wake Avery up from her nap. He went and got her and was "trying to wake her up" by snuggling with her. They both fell asleep for another half hour! It through off the schedule, but it was so adorable I couldn't make myself wake them up.

Avery loves to climb on everything.

Avery's favorite thing right now is puppies. She loves to find picture of them in books and every time we ask her "what does a doggie say?" she'll say "woof woof". It is so adorable.
When we go on walks she loves to see dogs and wants to go to them, but when they get close they make her nervous and she cries. And then when we leave she cries that she wants to go back to the dogs haha
Our neighbors had their little puppy out playing and she was so excited/nervous the whole time we were playing.

I went to my first crawfish boil.
These guys are still alive....

And they just dump them in this boiling pot of water...

And wala! Nice tasty cockroaches to eat.

So even though these things look super gross, they are pretty tasty. But I didn't think the were tasty enough for all the work it takes to make them. Hours of preparation, plus the hours it takes to crack open the thing to get a tiny bite at the end. Not worth it.

We got to go up and visit our friend's new baby, Skyler Avery!
She was a DOLL! She was almost an 8 lb baby, but I still couldn't believe how tiny she was!! She was so sweet and I loved getting to hold her.
We are really going to miss the Hobbs. Thankfully they are moving to Denver so I think our paths will still cross pretty frequently.

Tyler had to work on Father's Day and I had to give a talk in church, so church was not fun! But they let Tyler go around 1pm so he got to spend the rest of the day with us.
We had Cafe Rio and cookies (my man of simple pleasures) and we spent the day enjoying some family time.
I'm not sure why Avery looks so concerned in this picture.

This is Avery's new favorite hang out.
I spend so much time in the kitchen cooking and cleaning and she likes to keep me company.  Of course she always likes to play in the most convenient places...

Yogurt for lunch. It got everywhere.

Oh, I love the photo of Tyler throwing Avery up in the pool! And the photo of them trying to "wake up" snuggled together is so sweet with her arm around his neck.
