Avery and I took a trip home last week to visit my parents. We had a great visit, just relaxing and hanging out. My brother and his wife made a trip out from Utah for the weekend to spend a couple days with us and it was fun to get together with them too.
Before I left... here's a picture of my Mother's Day surprise! I have a super sneaky husband. My friend makes these mason jar wall hanging which are beyond cute and she made some to donate for our YW auction last month. I was sad I didn't win the bid for them, but decided I was just going to have her help me make some of my own. I went out and bought all the supplies, but timing just wasn't working out for us to get together and make them.
On Mother's Day I went in to get Avery up and there they were, completed!
Apparently Tyler had gone behind my back and worked with Megan to get them done so he could surprise me on Mother's Day! Megan, of course, was in on the surprise so she kept stalling for us to get together.
I had no idea what they were up to! It was a super cute surprise and really thoughtful. Tyler helped me hang them up that day and they look great!
I also love the sign he, I mean, Avery made.
And here are a few gems from our CO trip.
Snacking at Costco.
My completed Kindle case!
It was really fun to work on some sewing projects while I was home and had some extra time. I'm still super beginner, but the fact that I can start and finish a project all by myself is making me feel pretty good about my sewing skillz!
Grandma was dying to take Avery on the pony ride at the grocery store.
She hated it. Poor baby.
Helping unload the dishwasher.
This girl is seriously into climbing on everything.
Picking flowers with Grandma.
1 o clock church is rough with nap time. She couldn't make it through RS.
Crashed on the couch back at home.
We visited my cousin's baby, Rhett. He is so big! And smiley!
Me and Avery with my cousin and his cute family.
Morning snuggles with Grandma.
We went to visit my friend Kammie who gets married in July! So exciting!!
Avery ready to take my neighbor's Viper for a spin.
My second completed sewing project!
I wanted to make a Happy Birthday banner that would last so I can hang it up whenever anyone has a birthday. My birthday is next so I guess I get to break it in!
Playing with Grandpa on the swing.
Just goofing off.
Her new favorite toy is pushing her stroller around. This was great entertainment at the airport.
The day we got back I still taught my swim lesson in the afternoon. I came home to these two crashed on the couch. So precious.
And just a couple other randoms from hanging around at home this week.
Avery wanted to wear daddy's lifting gloves.
Noteworthy: Thanks to extra long lunch breaks, Tyler was able to make it to the gym 6/6 days this week!
Avery isn't really into watching movies or shows yet, but she was being super needy while I was trying to cook dinner ("up! up!") so I thought I would pop one in one of her Disney movies she got for her birthday and see if she was interested. She was glued! For about 10 minutes. Oh well.
She really into putting on my clothes recently. It's super cute except she digs all of my clothes out of my dresser (or laundry basket, ew) and they are all over the apartment.
Daddy helped her get this one on the right way. She wore it for the next 3 hours.
Tyler is only about 4 weeks away from being done with 3rd year! Woohoo! STEP 2 in July and then away rotations in August/September.
My last day of work will be July 11 and then I have Girls Camp the week after that. And then... I am a free woman! We are looking forward to a visit from Tyler's parents and soon-to-be RM brother in July and hopefully doing an away rotation in California so we can have a good excuse to go stay for an extra long visit. TBD... we'll see how it all shakes out!
