Christmas with the Hedmans

We are one week into our 2 week vacation here in California with the Hedmans.
We arrived last Saturday wearing our pink shirts to announce that we are having a baby girl!

Since then we have been having lots of fun making gingerbread houses with our niece, Maddie, hanging out with the fam and making lots of good food.

On Christmas Eve we had our family gift exchange.
We gave Maddie a Cinderella castle with some of the characters from the movie and she hasn't stopped playing with it since we got here. She loves it!

Maddie got me for the gift exchange and luckily her Mom is an excellent seamstress and made me a super cute apron! Thanks Natalie!
To go with my apron Natalie... I mean Maddie... got me an Our Best Bites cookbook and a gift card to BB&B. My niece knows me so well! ;-)

Tyler's little sister got him a Fox t-shirt, some bear claws and a Jack in the Box gift card. All his favorite things!

When we were out shopping for little girl clothes we couldn't resist picking something up for baby Tanner, due in just a few weeks!

Christmas morning we got spoiled with lots of fun gifts.
Some of my favorites were all the baby clothes for our little girl on the way!
Tyler's mom gave us lots of cute outfits and my mom even sent a surprise package for us to open on Christmas too! Full of baby girl clothes!
I was in heaven!
I can't wait for her to get here so I can dress her up in everything!!

One of Tyler's presents were some donuts from his favorite donut place in town. This is him smelling the donuts through the wrapping paper, haha.

Opening a stocking for baby girl.

And Tyler with his stocking...

Cute Maddie!

We also got to talk to all the missionaries from our family out serving right now. We got to talk to my brother, Kent, in the morning and at night we talked to Tyler's brother, Kevin, on skype and Natalie got to skype with her sister too.
Here's a picture of everyone crowding around to talk to Kevin.

One tradition in the Hedman family is to make home made pizza on Christmas Eve. This year we had sweet pork burritos on Christmas Eve, but we still had our homemade pizzas later in the week.

We also had a fun night where we made caramel apples and truffles.
We've had so much good food! Good thing I'm pregnant and I get to eat for two!!

Here's Maddie waiting for her apple to get dipped in caramel.

One other fun thing that happened this week is that I went with my sister-in-law to her baby doctor appointment and while we were there the doctor asked if I wanted to check out my baby too! So I got to sneak in an extra Ultrasound to see baby girl! It was so fun!
The doctor was so nice. He did a year of Residency in Galveston so he was familiar with where me and Tyler live right now and he loved talking all about it.
I'm jealous my sister-in-law gets such a fun doctor!

Week 1 was so fun! We can't believe it's over already.
Vacation always goes too fast!
