Is it almost October?

Oh wow, where has this last month gone?
Let's catch up, shall we?

On August 17th my favorite big brother was married! in the Salt Lake Temple to the cutest girl there ever was.
Her name is Jessie and we love her. She is a doll.
Of course we had to be there. And it was awesome!
Here is a picture of my family (minus Elder Engstrom!) waiting outside the temple for the bride and groom.

And here is the lucky couple looking so adorable.

It was so much fun to be there with my family and be a part of the big day.
We got to attend the sealing, which was so special and made me think back to our special day a couple years ago.
What a blessing to be an eternal family! I love the Gospel!

Here's a pic of me and my two brothers. I love those guys.

The reception was so beautiful and Bryce and Jessie looked so happy and awesome the whole day. I'm so glad we got to be there.

As luck would have it, Tyler's parents were in Utah the same week dropping off the 4th Hedman missionary at the MTC so we got to spend some time with them and see Tyler's little brother off on his mission.
It was such a happy coincidence to be able to see both our families in the same trip. It was worth Tyler missing 3 days of med school to do it.
(Thankfully they still haven't kicked him out for skipping class...)

Here's us with Tyler's parents and little big brother, Kevin.

After we said goodbye to Elder Hedman we had to distract Ma Hedman from losing another son to the mission field so we went canoeing in the Provo river.

While we were in Utah we did lots of eating and talking and picture taking and it was awesome, but I was so exhausted when we got home since we did very little sleeping.
It was fun to see the newlyweds at the airport on Saturday morning as they flew off to a luxurious honeymoon in Cancun.
Meanwhile, we had to come back to real life.

So then a couple weeks went by. And all the while we are working and schooling and churching and all the normal busy life stuff.
Then, we got to go to CO!

In Colorado we had a beautiful backyard open house for the not-so-newlywed couple. (It had been a whole 3 weeks!)

And this time we earned our keep because someone had to put up and tear down all those lights. and tables. and chairs. etc etc.

Except for this one time when we all just sat around and watched my dad put together the new fire pit for the porch. (Hi dad!)

Tyler and I stayed for a couple days after Bryce and Jessie left since Tyler was actually on Fall Break this time.
We made a stop at our favorite rib house (The Rib House).
This place is going to make it tough to impress my parents with Texas BBQ when they actually make it down here.

Here's Tyler with his half rack of ribs.

And nobody cares, but this is when I beat Tyler at Mastermind in 3 moves.
Ok, I do care. That is impossible to beat.

So our CO trip was awesome and we were really sad to leave. Especially because we don't know when we're going to be back since we're going to Cali for Christmas this year.

Sooo also, sometime in the last month (I don't remember when) Tyler got to go shooting at an indoor range.
Nothing makes this boy happier.
Except shooting at an outdoor range. Out in the desert.
But he takes what he can get around here.

Looking very studly with his... big gun.
He says it's an AR-15.

Aaaand that about sums it up. Except for all the craziness going on at work and Tyler being busy with school and both of us doing lots of stuff for church callings and still trying to find time to hang out with our friends and on and on. Too bad I don't have any pictures to document all of that fun stuff.
It's been crazy!
And I can't believe it's almost October. This year has gone by so fast. I think I'm going to blink and we'll be moving out of Galveston.
But life is good and I'm excited for more craziness ahead!
Oh, and one more thing.
I made Crab Bisque the other day and it was amazing.

The end!

I'm pretty sure I beat mastermind in 2 moves once!
And that rifle was shooting a little to the left the whole time. But I did get 8/10 rounds within a quarter-sized circle in the middle!

1. Really cool lights in the backyard reception.
2. Crab bisque FTW. Did you use fresh crab?
3. Tyler's on our team for the zombie apocalypse.
