Time keeps on rolling

This has been a week worth noting for us. On Monday we celebrated our
2nd wedding anniversary!
Holy cow, has it really been two years?! That sure went fast. The thing about anniversaries and birthdays and such is that no one else really celebrates except you so unfortunately I still had to go to work that day and Tyler still had to take a test. Oh well. We did have time to make a fun breakfast in the morning (Breakfast is Tyler's favorite meal/food) before we went about our business. After I finished working that night we treated ourselves to a fancy dinner at Luigi's, a local Italian restaurant. I'm not dying to go back anytime soon, but the food was pretty good and it was fun to sit and chat in the dimmed lighting. So romantic!

This week is also noteworthy because at this very moment Tyler is off in some lecture hall somewhere taking his final exam that will complete his first year of medical school! (if he passes... and he will.)
Am I the only one who thinks this year went by insanely fast?? They keep telling me that time just goes faster the older you get, but I didn't think 24 was old enough for that to apply. I guess I was wrong.
Anyway, Tyler will be DONE with year 1 at UTMB within the hour. Pretty exciting!
Next up for Tyler is 8 weeks of research here at UTMB. We're looking forward to it because we think it won't be as time consuming as school/studying. I guess we'll see. He starts Monday.

In other news, last week Tyler sprained his ankle playing basketball.
The funny (?) thing is that just before Tyler sprained his ankle, one of our friends (shout out to Mckay!) who was also playing sprained his ankle.
Tyler was guarding Mckay and somehow Mckay ended up on the floor with a big, fatty kankle and after he was taken care of and on his way home they started playing again and it was only a couple minutes later that Tyler sprained his. Tyler is really bummed about it because he was really starting to get some good running mileage each week (two 10Ks the week before the sprain!)
and now he's not going to be able to run for a while and he's going to have to work up his stamina again. He's also bummed because this is the same ankle he sprained on his mission in the MTC, which means he's pretty much going to have to wear a brace whenever he plays basketball for the rest of his life.
Lame!
Here are some pics of his swollen/bruised ankle.

One last fun thing I'll mention is that last night I went to an Ingrid Michaelson concert with my friend Diana. The concert was at the House of Blues in Houston so we left a little early and went to CPK for dinner.
We had so much fun!
It's been a long time since I've had a girly date like that and we had so much fun just chatting the whole time. It took us forever to eat because we were doing so much talking and not enough eating! We were a little late to the concert and didn't get to see a ton of the opening band, but that was fine with me because I get tired of standing that long anyway.
The opening band was Scars on 45. I guess they just released their first album 2 weeks ago. We liked them pretty good.
Of course Ingrid stole the show. We had such a fun time hearing her play.
Thanks to Diana for being such a fun date and thanks to her hubby Jason for letting me steal his ticket!
(We hear Jason and Tyler had a pretty fun night too working on their Halo skills.)

And that is the latest on us. Now I need to go make some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for Tyler to celebrate being done!
