We've been doing pretty good surviving quarantine. All of our normal activities are shut down so we have no where to go. I'm kind of enjoying the slower pace and not feeling like I have to constantly be rushing around trying to get everybody where they need to go plus make all the food and keep the house clean. The kids help with chores around the house and we have found plenty to keep us busy and having fun.
Kendall is starting to figure out reading and is really taking off!
My experience with her is totally different from Avery (who is still a reluctant reader) and it has been really fun helping her learn.
We put Sawyer in the zookeeper outfit from Grandma Hedman and took pictures of him with all the animals.
We started swim lessons right before everything shut down.
All the girls LOVE it!!!
We met up with my high school friend at her friend's ranch.
The kids loved tromping around outside in their boots.
Sawyer likes anything as long as Mom is holding him.
Avery could stay outside all day.
My friend Caitlin got to meet Sawyer.
I've known her since I was 14.
Reagan loves Magnatiles
They released Frozen 2 early on Disney+
We made Frozen sugar cookies and watched the movie!
Tyler is always the best at decorating.
We have been making way too many treats. I bake with the kids pretty much every day.
Luckily, Tyler just finished (and WON!) the Biggest Loser contest at the gym so we don't have to do the lame diet anymore! yay!
Speaking of the contest... Tyler barely won by a fraction of a percent. The day before the final weigh in he didn't eat anything and barely drank any water. Then he went to the gym and ran for like 45 minutes to sweat off all the water he could, THEN changed his shirt to a dry, lightweight one.
I was making fun of him for all of these crazy lengths he was going to, but he barely beat out the second place guy!
He won 6 months free membership to our gym, plus some swag and 50 bucks. #worthit
Avery learning how to flip pancakes.
The leprechaun came on St. Patrick's Day!
Left a trail of treats and shamrocks.
And a tasty breakfast!
Kendall loves drawing with Art Hub for kids on YouTube
Doing homeschool.
Our homeschool is super basic. Usually they do a couple worksheets, maybe some math flashcards, maybe spelling practice. I just make up something super simple and we work on it for maybe 30 minutes. It's more to give us something to do than to actually learn. Avery's in 1st grade. I think she's gonna be ok.
We have definitely been watching more tv than normal, but not a crazy amount. We just tried out Us vs Wild on Netflix where you choose what Bear Grylls is going to do next and the kids thought it was super fun.
We also have watched the new Sonic movie several times so that's a new favorite.
Our neighbor brought us fresh Crumbl cookies.
Sooooo good!!!
It's been very rainy all week. But in between rain storms we try to get outside.
Grandma and Grandpa Engstrom got Avery and Kendall a kiwi crate subscription for the year. They loved their first box! Perfect timing to work on it!
Working on making their grabber.
Success! Claw and little monsters to pick up.
Tyler improved upon the design a little bit and added a ring to make pulling the string easier. Should have been an engineer.
Avery loves holding Sawyer and keeps him entertained a lot. She's a great helper!
We were supposed to be on our way to Hawaii today, but had to cancel our trip. We are super bummed. The silver lining is that Tyler has 9 days off now and will hopefully be spared from being exposed to Coronavirus... unless they call him in, which might happen. We aren't especially worried about the virus, but trying to be cautious and do our part to socially distance.
I've really been enjoying all the quality family time with the kids and focusing on each other rather than worrying about all the normal life things we typically have to worry about. (Packing lunches, school, activities, YW, etc etc)
Quarantine has felt like a gift of time to me and I'm trying to soak it all in before we jump back into our crazy life.

You guys are making the best of quarantine. Good job.
Looks so fun! Glad you are enjoying the quarantine and the extra family time. Maddie loved the blog too! That is awesome that Tyler won the challenge at the gym. Bring on the baked goods!
Way to go for the win Tyler!!
It's really great to see how you are appreciating your family time together.
I'm so hoping I get to see Sawyer before he starts walking.......
