Quick trip to Colorado

My parents decided they simply could not wait another minute to see their dear grandbabies and offered to fly us out last minute for a trip to Denver. Since Tyler is on ICU we don't see him much anyway so we jumped at the chance to go visit. We were only there 6 days, but we packed in a lot of fun!

Playing in the toy store at the airport.
Give me all the mermaids!

So happy to be reunited!
(Kendall fell asleep 10 seconds after this picture was taken)

My parents are living in a rental home right now and Kendall loved looking through the stairs.

Playing with Uncle Cody.

Snuggles before bed.

We played at the Aurora Reservoir. The water was cold!

Avery had a blast despite the chilly water.
Grandpa was a good sport and played in the water with her.

Kendall currently hates sand and spent the entire visit on Grammy's lap or in the wagon. What a diva!

Building sandcastles.

We got to hang out with the Hobbs! (minus Jason, duh)

I spent the night at the Hobbs' house the night before and it was a highlight of my trip. We miss these guys so much. We are plotting the day when we can be neighbors again. Diana and I went out to dinner and got to catch up on everything and it felt so good! I was glad I got to see Jason for a little bit before he had to go to work.

Avery and Grandpa havin a ball.

Kent and Kenzie drove over from Utah to see us for a couple days! They loved on the girls and Avery and Kendall think they are the best! Kent and Kenzie are going to be the best parents. They were so sweet with the girls and super helpful will all the diaper changes, clothes changes, doing hair, baths, etc.

Avery has a new buddy.

We went for a short hike in Boulder. You can't beat these Colorado summers!

Kent was a champ and carried Kendall the whole way. Kendall loved riding in the carrier and chatted Kent's ear off the whole way. So adorable!

Avery hiked a lot more than I thought she would. This girl is growing up! When she got tired Grandpa would put her up on his shoulders.

Building a rock tower.

Very proud (and serious) about her art.
(I love how she still has Michelin man arms. She's still such a baby!)

Kendall and Kent.

Beautiful Boulder, Colorado!

Relaxing outside after eating at Cafe Rio for Dad's birthday!

I got to meet up with a couple of my high school friends and meet Sami's fiance. I will be back in Colorado for her wedding in October!
I love that we still stay in touch after all these years.

Swimming at the Bay where I used to work as a teenager.
(Cody is the pool manager there now.)
Kent convinced Avery to go down the slides and she loved it!

Kendall was sooooo tired and fell asleep waiting in line. She didn't wake up the whole slide down with Grandpa! haha!

We had such a fun visit! I'm so glad we got to go!

The day after we got back I got to go out for mani/pedis with the resident wives. We have a bunch of July birthdays in the group so we made a day of it!
Tyler had the day off so he got to spend some one-on-one time with the girls while I was out.

Avery had her first real dental cleaning. We've done check ups before, but they cleaned her teeth for real this time, like they do adults. She was a champ! I was so proud of her!
